I love it, along with all Hughes' films, but not sure what you mean about the makeover? Did they ever do a remake?

Well short of them all speaking 18th century inflected Austrian,one accents pretty much as good as another. I thought the whole point was that they should be gratingly vulgar!

no... the 'basket case'... she was quite cute before they put all the bloody make-up on her and that 'thing' in her hair.... and that bog awful blouse

Just to add to that Jason Statham is of course the greatest actor (and human in fact) of all time.
