Spike on a bike

So I finally took the plunge and rode to work today
1pm set off for work thought I'd allow plenty of time for mishaps and the like and of course time for coffee and fag before my shift starts.

Only 7 miles and being Norfolk no hills but it was roasting hot and some sort of freak head wind all the way in

Then 8 hrs of work in temps of 34-36 c

Nice ride home tho just now somehow managed to stretch the 7 miles to ten as its a really nice evening

Only one issue dam lidl rear light flew off into the hedge the promptly turned itself off just as I got back to it and it was £2.00 too luckily I have three on the rear

Celebratory smoke n coffee now and a look for more rear lights !

Sounds like a good commute.
I got good rear lights from Evans, in Norwich. My old rear lights, which were brilliant until someone nicked them, came from Clas Olson in the Chapelfield Shopping Mall, in Norwich. Good price too. More than Aldi, less than Evans.

Yeah I'm thinking I may go look tomorrow morning

Trouble is if I go Evans I may come home with more than just rear lights ;-)

I know there's loads of threads about lights but just outta interest what you got ?
Curses that Dammed Evans!!

I ride with Lezyne Micro drives. One of the brightest, smallest, most resilient lights around. Also easily recharged.

on supa bright mode they last a good 2-3 hours so are perfect for all weather commutes. not so good for long night rides though.

You'll soon learn that if there is a monster headwind going to work that it will turn around 180 degrees by the time you leave and be a monster headwind going home as well.
Every single day and especially so when you are running late.

I fear no headwind. In fact there's nowt more glorious in life than overtaking a df rider battling a monster headwind whilst slipping past using minimal effort on my super aerodynamic machine, lol.
