Finally got to do a bit of offroading.

A few months back I invested in a GT Zaskar frame for £40. A friend of mine has a few of them and I have always liked the look of them, so when this frame turned up, it was an offer I could not refuse. I slowly bought the parts to build it into a useable bike and this week finally got to ride it.
For the inaugral ride I decided to go to Philips park in Whitefield as it is only a few miles from me.
I went on one of the red routes and did a few laps. I was cautious at first, but slowly got a bit of confidence up and enjoyed it, although I did have a few "moments" when my pace overcame my ability, but I will certainly be doing a bit more and hopefully get a bit better.

It is different, different is good. MB riding is far more technical than road riding. Looking at the strava segments, I am good at going up the hills where you do not need much technical ability! It is going to be an on going thing to improve I think, but something I am looking forward to.
