Finally got to ride my new bike

At last i've been out on my new bike...i bought a 2009 spesh alez elite at the beginning of december, but the wife said its was for christmas, so like a good boy i accepted. by the time christmas came so did the bad weather, so i still could'nt get out ( yes i know a few of you hardliner did) then the weather improved, but we had the inlaws over from spain for a week, so still no riding!!!

but today was a great day .... went out with a few friends for a lap around what i call poole harbour. 38 miles all told .. great fun. what a difference from my mountain bike...only little nigglewas my gears need a little adjustment, they keep slipping in and out especially on a climb..

but overall i'm a very happy chappie......

I find my strength on the MTB has increased since taking to the road and I love it. Just a shame i dont have more time

For the time being on some rollers in my garden

I tore a muscle in my right thigh playing football last summer and have just started riding gently again. I have really porked in the last 6 months and need to lose at least 2 stone and recover my fitness so I'm confined to the rollers for a few weeks until I find my legs again.

As soon as it's light enough to get out after work I will be out and about in the evenings. I have a couple of loops that I like around Bear Cross / Wimborne / Canford Heath, but the harbour ride sounds fun.

Hurrah for being out on a bike!

Gear slipping might be as simple as tightening the cable slightly - there's a barrel adjuster, give it a twist and it may sort it.

Someone will probably come along now and tell you that's completely wrong!!
