Sadly the lead singer of the Temtations Dennis Edwards has passed away aged 75. Fantastic singer and group. I love their stuff.

It was said Berry Gordy hated the song with its reference to drugs but he was outvoted by his staff. The song won The Temptations and Motown itself their first Grammy for ‘Best rhythm and blues group performance, vocal or instrumental’.

Always sad to hear of the death of someone who helped form your musical tastes, I was a teenager in the 60's and soul and the Motown sound in particular was a big thing.

If I had to pick my five all time favourite records that would be in there. Tremendously atmospheric music and it also brings back a happy personal memory.

I was Motown, rock.....and blues. Very much into Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis.

They just don't make music like they used to do, I'm sure the young of today will be thinking the same in 50-60 years time but I just can't see it,
