They really are great bikes.

The only thing i changed was the 11-25 Tiagra cassette to a 12-28 Ultegra one.

Lovely jubbly - I'm 5`11" on the M/L and it's spot on for me ... I expect you will be fine on the M though - enjoy those hills !

I managed to trundle my Defy 2 up the Kirkstone Pass at Easter.

Yeh the giant website says 5ft 10 to 6ft is m/l

5ft7 to 5ft 10 is the m - im just about touching 5ft 10.......but i only have a 30inch inside leg.....so the standover of 77.7 on the M will be spot on for me
