Finding out the rear frame dropout distance!

Good evening all

I am asking yet another, what is very likely, a very obvious question. I need a new set of wheels and I have been asked what the rear frame dropout distance is. I am assuming it is the distance between the inside edges of the frame where the wheel sits. Between what two points should I measure?

Most modern road bikes have a rear spacing of 130mm, hybrids and MTB bikes are 135mm. Note that some bikes are designed to take both road and ATB components, to cater for both widths these may well be 132.5mm.
