Just need to rant...

Got up this morning all ready to cycle in - to find about an inch of the white stuff has appeared over night

I know alot of you do cycle in it but not me, if I can not see the road I do not cycle. This had better not be another month of the stuff...

When I left the flat in Leith this morning at 6am, there was a light drizzle. 5 minutes later it was sleet. 5 minutes later again it was snow and things were turning white. The rest of the journey in was done in about 2 - 3cm of snow, which was falling all the time; I had to take my protective glasses off as they were steaming up & getting a constant coating of snow and I could't see where I was going. Mind you, without them and with a slight headwind, I was being blinded by the snow in my eyeballs!

It was fun though; 5 mins before I got to work I had terrible bother changing gear - when I looked back, the cassette had turned into a big snowball.

Stopped snowing a couple of hours ago though and the sun's been out for a while. The snow seems to have gone and the ground is drying up.

Only ever missed one commute through snow.(I stayed at work)

TIA.

Snow has started to melt - but it is now -2 deg outside so it is going to be an ice rink shortly!! Can not cycle tomorrow anyhow as have to go to horse in evening (assuming I can get there in the snow!)

Have you got an appropriate bike for snow?

The temps are dropping though....

Tomorrow will be either wet or icy..

Just cleaned 2 bikes.....argh...the Fixed was a filthy mess from today's wet salty rides, the MTB from Monday's damp, soggy wet mucky ride back home off road..... the chain sounded like sand paper.....hosed that off.........., then lubed......
