Chains a bit slack

I like the colour. Are you in Go-Outdoors?

I don't think it is really, but it seems customary on many many forums to say that about any single-speed chain setup

Is it that the chainring is resting in a slack 'spot'?

My chainring is no way near concentric so when it's at it's tightest so it doesn't bind on one spot, there is about an inch of play on the chain at it's slackest spot.

Looks nice.
I was halfway through converting an old road bike to single speed, then noticed the downtube braze ons. Just couldn't live with the aesthetics of two lumps on my frame!

NO! NO! The missing shifters would be a badge of honour, announcing your superiority to mere geared riders.

The bike looks great; put some bar ends on for extra versatility.
