What an aweful Commute this morning

There is a fire at a tyre yard on Sandfold Lane, this in turn caused traffic Chaos but to make the worse the stench has made me want to throw up :-(

Im sat in the office feeling like poopey plop now

Roll on this evenings ride home

Gaz

If you got a lungfull of the smoke you may want to go and get checked over at A&E because it's full of particles of an extremely dangerous nature. The Firefighters go to great lengths to avoid the smoke and other people should too.

Are you sure the smell isn't just your tyres burning with the speed you go Gaz?

Have a look at my blog (sig below) for a photo of the smoke.

Nasty looking stuff, glad I avoided it.

I was heading down Hyde Road at about 0700ish when all the Fire Engines were tearing ass down the road and then switching on the siren scaring the shoot out of me. I counted about 6 engines turn up.

I wondered what was on fire, did the old Twitter search and someone posted this http://yfrog.com/n013wwj seems to be the source, when it first started.

Some more i found http://yfrog.com/n6pi2dcj and http://yfrog.com/14uenj

They my be acting in an emergency but then cause quite a danger. scaring the shoot out of people, hear the noise and react with out bothering to look what there turning into, came quite close to be squished as well as being startled by the noise

hmm thinking about it,, it was probably tht incident that the very large 'incident' van was going to that i saw this morning nr victoria station..

it got thru the traffic , as the cars edged onto the pavement,, came up to the lights slowly, and STILL some idiots were crossing the junction for some lame reason...are some drivers like horses and wear blinkers ?

There was a great view of the cloud of smoke from under Hartshead Pike this morning. I feel for anyone that had to breath it if it were tyres that went up.
