Completed my first 80 mile today on my £300 btwin road bike. Been doing it around 18 month now give or take a few month out because the bike is a little lively in the wet. I listened to other riders and used jelly babies instead of gels. Which worked a treat. Looking forward to my first 100 mile. Hoping to find people to ride with soon. Because 80 mile on your own is lonely and I can see why people give up on this sport. I genuinely love it but can't commit to a club because of work. But get out most evenings after work. Legs are stiffening up now as well as my knees. So I'll have a couple of days off now then start a few sprint sessions... Hoping to change my bike by Christmas. Just thought I'd share this with the community because since I took it up any questions or help I needed everyone on here have been really helpful.
