The first mass produced car driven by compressed air is due to appear in august 2012. It will be produced by Tata and will have range of 185miles. Better than any electric car! It will cost about 5500 pounds. Great news and tough for greedy oil companies.

The cheap compressed-air powered car has been out Real Soon Now for about a decade.
I hope it's true, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I won't hold my breath. I've read about the false dawns that the Tata air car projects has had. There doesn't appear to be a consensus of opinion about it's viability. Several articles talk about the need for an auxiliary power source e.g. a small internal combustion engine to allow it to mix with rush hour traffic rather than hold up rush hour traffic.
