First clipless commute

First clipless ride anywhere in fact, save a short test-ride after I'd fitted the pedals. Got on OK, have worked out that clipping in and more importantly clipping out is best performed with the foot at the bottom of the pedal stroke, after a sort-of near miss
Havign had toeclips for years the difference isn't as massive as some folk have experienced going from nowt to clipless, but definitely more effort can be expended for more of the pedal stroke than before.
Plus which, me new overshoes kept me feet a LOT warmer

i have those days too lol normaly at traffic lights! I've come off twice because i couldn't get my feet out fast enough. The worst was a car forced me into the gutter clipped it with my front wheel and down i went! My panniers didn't help they were heavy and speeded up the decent. Unclipped as i was about to hit the floor. Had my hard rubber cleat covers in my rear pocket on jersey. Sat on them straight on my coxics if thats how you spell it? I couldn't sit down properly for a month had to stay off the bike it hurt too much to sit in the saddle. Take my advice be careful what you put in your rear pockets!
