First close shave

While comming home from work, setting a steady pace of about 20-23mph, as i was about 200 yards fron the junction this tw@t in a mini 4x4 thing flew past me at about 35 cut in front to get into my lane as the did so, he was that close his wing mirror clipped my handle bar, sending me wobbling and trying to get the bike under control, failing this i had do "jump" from the bike and landing on the soft "wet" grass verge, no lasting damage done but the ass never even stopped as he sped off, an old-boy pulled up to see if i was ok, ended up with a slight buckle in the wheel and a twichy arse....Mark

If you managed to get his number report it to the Police. Glad it was nothing worse than a buckled wheel.

had summat similar at the weekend. An old lady driver came past me so close that her wing mirror clipped my right arm. Fortunately i was only coasting to a junction so i was a slow speed. That and it only brushed me so there was no heavy contact and apart from a bit of wobble i managed to keep it upright. Tapped her window at the next lights. She wouldn't wind her window down and flat denied what had happened. The worrying thing was that she wasn't being aggresive just completely oblivious to my existence. Another inch to the left and it would have been a different story completely.

Smash her window and ride off before she can do anything, see how she feels like it!!

Seriously though, if she was old, she might just have needed to go to specsavers (which is just as worrying, I know).

When I was about 14, I was cycling along a local road and a van from a local fruit and flower distributer (who shall remain nameless .... well ok, it was WD Caulfiield) hit my handlebars as they went past.

At the time I wasn't sure if it was my fault, even though I was over to the left but now, I really wish I had reported it, as hitting a 14 yer old on a bike?? that is just LOW beyond words! (unfortunately I had no proof though).

Luckily I was able to keep control after almost ploughing into the pavement, and it has never happened to me again (touch wood).

You should have told him to follow them, get the reg and report them to the Police as you yourself would be doing.

Not just a report from a single cyclist, but also from an eye witness too!!

Alas, that probably wasn't top of your mind at the time.
