Having only been cycling daily since July I hadn't realised how much I've enjoyed cycling in. I've only had 6 days away from it over the break but I have felt so lazy!
So I was looking forward to getting back in to it, despite a strong headwind and eye-watering horizontal rain on the way in, only for the wind to change during the day and be struggling back in the evening...
Oh well, it's still hugely more fun than sitting in a freezing car!

Unfortunately no commute for me until next Tuesday and I know it's going to be very hard work after ten days off the bike.

I've only had 4 days off and commuted in today. I felt lazy after just those 4 days!

Roads are still nice and quiet, so it was more enjoyable that usual.

Do you work nights then? And cycle home afterwards?! Good effort!

10 miles to work, a 12hr night then cycle home and it is brill. I work permanent nights 4 on/4 off and try to cycle at least 2 nights every set. I would do all 4 nights by cycle but the impact on family life at evening meal times means a compromise.

I know what you mean guys about feeling lazy, after only a couple of days of the holidays I was itching to get on my bike, so rang a couple of cycling mates and they felt exactly the same, so of we set on a 50mile ride.it didn't half blow the cobwebs away, and I didn't feel half as guilty eating loads of christmas goodies when I got home...

Hmm, my 16 mile (each way) commute across London is always pretty stop and start. Yesterday, there was much less traffic, and it was a much smoother and quicker trip. Lovely, until halfway home when I realised I was soooo tired. All those traffic stops had provided me with little rests: I'm not as fit as I thought I was!

Back on Tuesday for me. I took the bike to Devon over christmas, like the Himalayas compared to Cambridge. The commute will be like having a rest! I'll get in a couple of rides before Tuesday too^_^

Don't worry - I'll be starting to cycle after 10 years off the bike in the new year. I expect there to be a lot of pain as a result
