First commute of the year sans legwarmers!

... Finally! I'm fed up of this winter-ness now, and this morning was a great ride to work with (lock up your daughters) bare legs and no overshoes or anything... even got a bit warm with the windproof jersey on so may ditch that tomorrow!

Isn't it a great feeling knowing that summer should be on its way soon!

Not sure I am ready for bare legs yet, I'm still in opaque tights (I ride in my office clothes) but I did wear shorts underneath the skirt instead of 3/4 leggings, and shoes instead of boots ....

There is a regular chap I see on my train with a Southwest Trains hire Brompton - and he was in short shorts - football type baggy ones - with bare legs this morning - I'm not that brave!

At 7am this morning it was too cold for shorts, although I had to unzip my windproof on my "climbs" but definitely needed to be be zipped up when travelling over 20mph.
I'd like to keep my legs covered up even in the summer but it seems there is nothing around for people like me who want to keep their hairy legs covered by Lycra.

I dropped the thick bib tights and trousers and started using my thin Lycra trousers, there ideal for the transition into the warmer weather, they would probably be ok in the peak of summer, but I like to get the sun on my legs then so wear shorts, I'm like a werewolf and I don't care, I think shaved legs is not an option when your as hairy as me, smooth legs and hairy everywhere else, not a good look in my opinion.

Shorts and a light long sleeve jersey this morning (after 8am) - lovely to ride in the sunshine again! My flourescent legs helped make me feel safe and visible

Long sleeved top, windstopper and shorts here today - and getting a bit too warm at times so might have to lose the windstopper sleeves on the way home

Summer kit this morning. Shorts, SS top, fingerless gloves. Still had a bit of a sweat on when I got to work. Perfect weather for cycling.

I was wearing shorts and a short-sleeved cycle jersey for my commute today, it was just about warm enough at around 8am and spot on at 5:45-ish on the way home. I am not commuting tomorrow but I will be out enjoying the fine weather in the Cheshire countryside preparing for the Cheshire Cat.
