Some of you lot are filthy animals... you should all be ashamed at your lack of cleanliness . ;)

By my standards my bike is quite clean

I've buggered my achillees so the 22 mile round trip seems like a bad idea. I skipped it today and got the train, but I am so tempted to jump on the bike tomorrow...

To be fair I've taken 2 weeks off and it only hurts mildly now when it's not warmed up, so surely that's fine right? Someone justify my decision!

I knackered my Achilles a couple of years ago, carried on playing football and cycling, took about a year for the bugger to stop hurting.

That's exactly what I didn't want to hear! To be fair, I think running is worse for it than cycling and I've just got cleats and put them way back'so hopefullyif I take it easy it shouldn't be too bad...

Bike hasn't been cleaned since purchase about three months ago, but it has been oiled recently and will probably be cleaned once the crappy or not so crappy weather changes.

as for Strava that's doing the job of recording rides like usual but what are these KOM's you speak of???

Pushed hard on Monday. Pushed hard on Tuesday, and went faster as I was lighter. Tuesday evening I had 'competition' which spurred me on so much that I was shattered for most of the evening.

Wednesday I was in the car, on an enforced recovery day.

Today, bit of a mixed bag this morning. Some slower social stuff, but pushing hard at times. Speed still increasing, so it looks like I am getting my fitness back after a long rest.

Enjoyed the 35 mile round commute this week - especially as, if the forecast is to be believed, next week will be an icy write off

First commute of the year today. Total of 44 miles. What did please me was that I was pretty quick, 17mph average each way. Similar speed to what I managed in April last year so feels like I'm fitter than then assuming I should be slower in the cold.

First commute of the year for me and I managed 20 miles and didn't feel too bad, but it will be next week when I'll pay for the couple of weeks doing nothing AND eating lots!
