First Commute Today

Righty - started the new job last week, but kept putting things off, like bringing shoes and stuff into the office and so on

But it's all set up now.

Not sure about the shower room, it's all good but there's not really a good place for hanging towels etc. Might have to improvise with the 2nd disabled toilet which is no more than a storeroom anyway, since no one needs it. Is probably best not to ask as I will only be told no!

route is fairly simple - let's just hope it doesn't turn me into a vigilante - must not buy a headcam, must not buy a headcam!

Good luck ZZ! Used to be a part of my commute - you'll get foaming at all the rlj-cyclers...take it easy. I used to ride the Chiswick Roundabout and the road down to Kew Bridge was / is? invariably choc-a-block, making for a nice steady filter through...'Wave' to Des O as you pass through Chiswick, and from time to time scalp enjoy the racers who will be heading to, or returning from Rich P ( Richmond Park )

And your route doesn't even touch the South Circular!!!

And what's wrong with a headcam? They are a calming influence when faced with the tide of stupidity......

You work just down the road from me (I'm at Which? 2 Marylebone Rd) and week before last I commuted every day from Tooting on my Brompton. Basically the mornings are great, but getting home is a polluted, nightmare despite the 'blue route' over the misery line. If I do it again I'll get a mask.

LOL - I'm goign the other way - live near Baker St and work in Richmond - I know where you work though!

All went well, and most importantly, I didn't get overtaken by anyone. No issues with cars either, save for the very end where someone was being a fanny at a little roundabout and I nearly had a clipless moment.

Just got to work on my shower regime to speed it up now.

My morning coffee and ciggy has never felt so good!

Nice route, thanks for posting it, but perhaps one for the ride home on a nice day when am not in a hurry to get anywhere on time, that river route can be a bit slow

I see it as the cycling compensating for my smoking habit, rather than smoking hindering my cycling habit...
Not planning on giving either up!
