It's that sort of thing that scares me. No ice on the road side and then whoosh you're down.

Careful with any brake on a slippy surface.

It was the rear I dabbed for separation form car in front while riding over metal car park deck. Bike went form under me and I landed on hip and shoulder. Collar bone was self mending but hip needed pins and six weeks on crutches/off work.

Amazingly I didnt even feel like I hit the ground. It was kind of a smooth glide. However I did get that sensation like I was falling.

Ouch, a sore way to learn a lesson but not the hard way, if you catch my drift ;)

I binned it into a hedge midway through a ride in Northumberland on Sunday. Black ice is a PITA. Which is what I had all the way home.

Good that you and bike are intact, and that you were near the end of your efforts!!

Yep, if you look closely at my garmin, you can see that it says 15.00 miles. I was wide awake by then so quickly got back onto my feet.

He is a lightweight if he plans to stop at 50. Only gives me 7 years, I will stop when I am dead

Glad you made a clean break from the bike. It's that classic feeling when you know a crash is inevitable and it's a case of damage limitation!
