Not at all. Merely pointing out that you should be looking ahead. You have already said that you were going down a hill and there was ice on the ground. Why was you going so fast as not being able to safely swere out of the way of a branch that thorns on it?

maybe you have comprehension difficulties to go with your lack of tact. "I noticed a (small) branch in my path. Not intending on avoiding it I noticed at the last minute that it was covered in massive thorns" - that involved looking ahead, etc etc.

Did you make up the ice on the ground thing for effect in your reply? (while not waffling of course)
