Just had the bike about 2 weeks now but haven't had a lot of time in the saddle just yet. There is a 60ish mile charity ride at the end of September which i'd like to attend, wondering if it's gonna be possible!!!

Rides so far.....

After the rides i haven't felt totally finished, could have gone on longer. Should have a bit more time from this week onwards so hopefully get out a lot more often, so is 60 miles gonna be possible..... Ummm!!

Hi there Richard, 60 miles is a bit of a step up from your previous rides, but it would be do-able, you have time to put in some longer rides before the event. Remember to eat well before the ride, ie a good breakfast porridge with honey does it for me. Eat regulary whilst riding and drink plenty of fluids before, during and after. The adage is eat before you are hungry, and drink before you thirsty.

60 miles is possible, providing you're in decent shape, it just depends on how flat it is and how fast you'd have to do it. You will also have to eat and drink a decent amount on a 60miler.

I'm in pretty decent shape, not carrying any extra weight, 6ft and a little under 11st. I'd be a pretty active person anyway and taking to the cycling quite well. Think i'd need to rack up a good few miles in the next 2 months.

Fast and careful!
you need to up your miles for a few reasons to increase stamina for the 60 miler and also to review your diet and ride snacks and hydration,2 months you'll be ok just take it steady, and build up,if the course has hills take them steady don't attack but put this idea into your training, good luck and happy cycling
