Our daughter loves trips out in the bike trailer - we started very gentle short rides at about 3 months, then got a bit more adventurous once she could hold her head properly. Are you sure you couldn't persuade them with a nice shiny Croozer?

If it's any consolation, I think my love of cycling came from my parents' insistence on driving everywhere.
