Not here offten enough to argue
So this weekend i decided it was time to try out the knee on some hills after only having one ride on the flat so far

i am 4 weeks post athroscopy surgery to remove bone fragments and smooth out the lower knee joint.

Did 20 miles on saturday and then sunday did another 30 miler with some hills i have never done before and by damn was it hardwork. Hope my fitness and stamina start to come back rather soon, cause i am struggling today.

I am 15 stone and hills have always been hardwork, but great on the downhills and flat sections ^_^

Ride It Like You Stole It!
How's the knee then ? Sounds like it held up.

I had athroscopy on my shoulder last year and , whilst on the turbo for one occasion two weeks after, and a couple of short spins, it was 4 weeks before I took to the road bike. Did have to be very careful on the hills though and climbing 'out of the saddle'. Didn't get back to riding the fixed for 7 weeks though.

Sounds like a good job has been done.

As fossyant said hows the knee holding up? After several weeks off the bike it will take a little while to get the fitness back up, just tke it steady at first.
I'm going to have the same problem in a few weeks, I've been off the bike for two weeks, been in hospital twice, had two operations and have one more operation to have, men's problems. I recon the first few weeks back are going to be hard.
