Middle of nowhere, and guess what? Yes, it's the day I left my Pump and spare tube/kit at home :?:

Was only a 3 mile run to the train station to get me home... however a fiver for 6 stops??? They are having a laugh!

I have a mini pump and repair kit stowed under the seat - it inflates the tyre just enough to prevent any damage to the rim and only adds a tad to the overall weight.

Never leave home without a mini pump, spare tube and PRK. Left the spare tube at home once in error end yup, guess what happened :?:

I normaly have them all in my backpack, just thought I was bullet proof today... the gods of fate had a laugh there :?:

Since the LBS was on the way home I took it there to get fixed. There is a slight buckle in the whell, not touching the brakes. He did show me and let me ride the Ridgeback Velocity... very sweet and sexy so I think that has made the chice for me rather than a road bike... but I prob will still get a road bike at one point... nothing wrong with having two bikes... just take spares with you :S

Yeah, I have had a good luck at the Velocity too for a mate of mine. Looks a lovely bike for the price.

Ironically I never got a p'ture until I bought a p repair kit and a pump.
OT I've got the velocity too as my commuter, its a good handling, robust bike, I don't think I'd fancy it often over longer distance but the few time it has been on long rides it has coped well. Riding that for commute makes a road bike feel more special :?:

On the trip to work tonight the little buckle in the rim don't seem to make a diffrence.

Yes, I think the gods sent me a message, get the ridgback Also the ridgback is one of the best dogs I have ever owned, hence why I have a wee thing for the bike.. sad but hey each to their own.

Any pointers on a decent mini pump, I have a normal pump, but something small would be nice. Are these any good? http://www.cyclaire.co.uk/

I've got a cyclair pump and it works reasonably well once you get the hang of it but practice first, fist time I used it in anger I couldn't get it to work. It is easy to carry but not as light as a minipump but I find the minis a bit of a faff.
