Yeah.it takes some time to get back in the swing of things.
You've got to get those muscles back into shape. Just take it steady, get out often on your bike and it will all be OK.
Gradually you'll begin to see an improvement.

I only ride for leisure at the moment and try and get out when I can. when work gets the new bike rack/shelter built I am planning to commute it is about 1.5 miles each way, every little helps. thanks for the comments

Keep at it, I'm down and out at the moment also for the 2nd time in 3 months so appreciate the difficulty of getting back into it. I started on a hybrid and then changed to road this year and was amazed how easy it was to got further, faster on the road bike.

Hybrid riding is different to road biking. Initially feels so slow, but comfort and enjoying the scenary makes up for it.also just think how quick you will on the roadie after a few weeks of hybrid work!
