first ride

I want to do a first ride. any suggestions on a ride that is good for a true beginner. I am in California. Also any training tips and tips for the day of the ride?

I don't know California (assuming you mean USA not one in England) but is there a rail trail near you? Usually no tough gradients and light traffic.

Just ride. Don't over think it. When you start getting tired, head back.

Repeat.

Kind of hard to say. No difficult hills on a first ride. A good time of year to get a start on things, in California, so long as it's not too rainy.
