Hi,

I am completely new to road bikes, but want to improve my fitness and have wanted to get a road bike for years.

I have been scouting about and am between two:

Mekk 2G Poggio P1.5 Sora (£650)

or

Verenti Belief SR2.0 Tiagra 2014 (£550)

From what I can understand the Verenti is better equipped, but the Mekk has a much better frame (full carbon)

Any advice on which to go for? or maybe I'm looking at completely the wrong thing!

Thanks

If those are your two choices, try both, then decide.
I doubt they'll feel similar - the Mekk looks much more 'relaxed', the Verenti more aggressive..

It's worth pointing-out that carbon is not inherently superior to aluminium, but there's no doubting that Tiagra is a step up from even 2014 spec. Sora.

The only reviews of the Mekk seem to be of the 2.0 which has a lot of nice parts (Ritchey) missing from the 1.5
I can't find a weight for the 1.5 either...

If it were me, I think I'd be going for the Verenti - but that doesn't mean you should!
(I've got a Felt F95 with Sora, and it's about £450)
