Hi guys I am wanting to buy my very first road bike and was just curious as to whether you guys could help give me some information on which bike is the best for £400 as that is my budget.

Hey there, lots of nice bikes available for that money at this time of year, this years models being reduced to make way for next years... what type of riding? commuting/leisure/pleasure/fitness?.. intended use can influence bike choice, on-road, off-road, bit o' both?
https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/gt-grade-on-offer-£360.191899/ This looks good, posted on another thread. Also;http://www.decathlon.co.uk/C-359113-road-bikes are well regarded and get good reviews...

Welcome to CC by the way!

If you can stretch it annoyed hundred sheets then your choice expands romaine seriously proper machinery. Well worth it, even if it means you have to wait a little longer.

Back to the OP... the Giant Defy seems a popular and solid bike (seems to be the Ford of bikes at the moment, with all the pluses and minuses that implies), the BTwins are also often recommended. I like Revolution and the Continental is discounted to your price range at the moment (EDIT: only 52cm left, though!) and the Cross was there anyway http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/browse/bicycles/road-bikes?brand=revolution

£330 for this. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/mekk-pinerolo-al-zr-2013/ - can't go wrong at that price, and has carbon fork.

Maybe because it says Mekk on the bike and Pinerolo is spelt differently and is actually the name of a place in Italy...
