Hi all. I bought a Giant Escape hybrid in September as my first bike since childhood (a long time ago now!). I’ve so far clocked up over 300 miles and absolutely love it. I am using it for my short commute to work as well as leisure rides. It is a capable bike and has been a far better choice than the mountain bike I was originally looking at.
However I do kind of wish that I had just bought a road bike instead but truth be told road bikes intimidated me being a new rider at the time. I have already lost 5 or 6 lbs and believe that I will ”stick with cycling.”
Hence I am now looking at road bikes as my riding is all road and cycle paths. I like the look of the Giant Contend SL1 disc, it is £1499.
