I found a dead fly in my bath the other day, and a live one elsewhere in the house today. A bit early in the year for them, I would have thought?
I have no idea where they came from because there are no windows open. I had a fly infestation last year and I had no idea where they came from either... Hopefully, this isn't leading up to me being re-crowned Lord of the Flies!

Something like that would make sense but there is no obvious place that rodents could get in. (And I couldn't smell anything rotting.)
I have had slugs occasionally slither through a tiny gap under the back door but that is too small for even the tiniest rodent.
I have a small food waste recycling bin in my kitchen but that has a closed lid and showed no signs of hatching flies when the swarm appeared.

Mine are coming up every which way. They're not in a planter though, but in open ground. Patch gets bigger every year.
I tried stopping my mint from spreading by 'boxing it in'... Some chance of that 😂

The lillies of the valley actually keep the weeds down, so not complaining about their spread.
My mint, which I have in an old Belfast sink, seems to have either a) been eaten or b) smothered by forget-me-nots

There's been a Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming in the wood opposite us for a few days now and last night a Song Thrush was warbling his head off in the back garden at dusk, still going strong this morning (I hope he's got an umbrella though).
