It's Saint David's day today, which means the three months of winter, as in December, January and February are thankfully over and spring has arrived!

I've just looked it up @raleighnut No way does winter continue to the 20th of March! I've sunbathed in my shorts and nothing else in mid March! 🧐

Aye I used to take a Camping trip between my birthday and Easter, I've been walking in shorts and a T-shirt but woke up the next day with a foot of snow over the Tent.
My birthday is indeed the 19th and spring officially starts after the equinox...............always has done astrologically speaking

No the first day of spring is the equinox, day after my birthday.

There are multiple versions of "first day of Spring".

In the Northern hemisphere:

The meteorological first day of spring is the 1st of March.

The Astronomical Spring starts on the equinox (which varies between 19th 20th or 21st March, this year is 20th)

The Solar (Celtic) Spring starts on 1st February.

My preferred season start dates are.
Spring March April May
Summer June July August
Autumn September October November
Winter December January February
I think they fit best with the weather and nature.
The equinoxes don’t really work for me.

I dont know the timescale between eggs being laid and hatched but saw a (what looked like) fresh shell, probably pigeons at the side of a track today.
That seems very early ?
