You poor bugger! I thought it was bad enough in Oslo.

At least you get blue skies when it's that cold and not the deep mid-winter.

Nice one, Reiver. There was a Skylark singing during my ride last Thursday too. Right now, a pair of Long-tailed Tits are taking beakfuls of moss into a dense conifer (a "dwarf" Boulevard which is now about 14' high and 10' wide), just 18' from my dining room window. When I was in the garden yesterday I could hear them quietly chuntering to each other as they went about their nest building task; quite musical, and utterly charming.

I've hasd to go to the rspb site to hear them
Got sidetracked into listening to a Lapwing, which always sounds a bit 'other-worldly' to me.

WHAT????? Have you sent the traditional letter to the Times? This could be a new record for Scotland - it would be very early for the S coast of England!

It was surprisingly early, I know. I had my doubts about it until my wife asked if I'd heard the cuckoo that morning.
The Times? No, I might write to the Lochaber News though.
