as I belive Halfords have given them 2 bike's for them to use to trile them out if i can remember correctley thay are baordman's i might be wrong tho

They could be, but they didn't have Boardmans written on the frame, just "POLICE", I think. I can check later as I still have the video file at home.

IIRC Specialized used to have a hardtail in their line-up that was available (only to the old bill obviously) in white with Police written on it in place of the Rockhopper (or whatever) branding. I think the officers had to add their own flashing lights and hooters though… The big question for me is, why do they dress in black? I know their bike and helmet are white, and the uniform is supposed to be black, but you'd think a bit of hi vis might be in order for safety reasons. Or maybe they do? Then again, it would give the game away I suppose. Imagine some cager cutting them up and shouting abuse, only to have the error of his/her ways pointed out to him/her by an Officer of the Law. I'd so want to watch…

Your right I rode across one of them a couple of weeks ago, you've got four at one set of traffic lights and none of them have a feeder lane .

The london cops I've seen on bikes (quite frequently) wear hi viz (yellow) tops and are riding Smith and Wesson - yup, the gun manufacturer - mountain bikes.

There is no feeling of being incognito. They are clearly bobbies on the beat, and they are meant to be a visible police presence.
