In Denmark, today is apparently referred to as "lille juleaften”, or “Little Christmas Eve”.

Same here in Norway.
And Wednesday is known as ‘lille lørdag’ or ‘little Saturday.’ 🤔

After a few of these i'm not sure whether its Wednesday or Saturday either....

You are correct Bruce. We have our Christmas dinner on the evening of the 24th and thats when we give our presents. We are going to Jannies mums. Having Christmas dinner on the 24th takes a bit of getting your head round but it works . On the 25th I go to my brothers and have English Christmas. Then on boxing day we are back to mums for lunch. 🎄🎅🇩🇰
