First year of cycle commuting completed

Today I completed my first year of cycle commuting. Stats I've worked out:

Distance travelled: 3826 miles (Not all commuting, but most.)
Weight lost: about 2st 5lb.

If I had done this distance in my car, I would have used almost 80 gallons of diesel, costing nearly £500 and producing three quarters of a tonne of CO2.

Also, since I started riding my new bike on 21st March, I have done 5 miles short of 2000 miles on it. (And the chain is about half worn according to my micrometer.)

Well done, heres to many more years commuting , I've been commuting that long now the memory's of my first commutes have been lost in the mists of time.

Wow, Mr Happy!

My commute from home to office is less than half a mile.... so I usually walk it, through the park. Some days I ride in just so that I can ride home the 'long way'!

I took up cycling in October / November last year, but didn't begin commuting until late February.

I only commute 20 miles a week - 2 miles each way. I've done around 3000 miles on my road bike though, and another 700 or so on my mtb which I use for commuting.
