Fitting drop bars on a Specialized Sirrus Elite

I love the Sirrus, except for the straight bars. I have decided to fit drop bars. Can anyone recommend me some 8 speed brakes/shifter combo that will work with the Shimano Sora mech currently on the thing, and which are also affordable?

Try eBay there were lots of 2nd hand STi / Ergo levers being sold when I last looked a few weeks ago.

I am thinking of converting my Sirrus Sport to drops although I have got a pretty comfy position now having first flipped the stem over and lowered it on the steerer tube, but then I fitted an adjustable stem which meant I could lower the bars a tad more - perfect. I also fitted bar ends as well. Now it's pretty good but would still like to try drops although it will be an expensive project if it turns out that drops on the Sirrus are not as comfortable as I anticipated.

I already have a nice road bike.

HLaB converted his Spesh Sirrus to drop bars about a year/18months ago and I think he posted about it somewhere. Might be worth a search on CC.

Do Shimano not do 8 speed tiagra?
