What really upset me is that they'll probably get £20 for it, but it was priceless to me. I loved that bike, more than my Marin hybrid or Condor roadbike. It was an old (1979) Dawes Double Blue that I had lovingly converted into a great fixie and enjoyed every time I sat on it.

A converted bike often has no value to someone else, but for the owner, as you rightly say, it's priceless.

Hope you're re-united with it before too long.

Just have to find yourself another project in the meantime.
