On the BBC news, they say the number of people with flu has massively increased this year (compared to last year).

I wonder if anyone has made the correlation of the number of people going back to work with the increase in flu cases.

Just sayin'.

Anyway, time for me to get a flu jab.

there's a new variant, which is possibly nastier than usual, and wasn't around when the current vaccines were tailored

afaik vaccination still should reduce symptoms but won't block it

What are my chances of being able to book a local flu vaccine jab now, that I'd have to pay for (~£15?)?

Meant to try and book it in early November, but forgot.

Think I had proper flu in October '21 and it was miserable, I could barely get out of bed for three weeks. I'd hate to go through that again, especially having made a bit of progress with my fitness in recent months after over three years of long covid.

I am just getting over some lurgy which may or may not have been the new flu variant. (I tested myself for COVID, and that came back negative.) I had the flu jab a while back so that may have helped reduce the severity of it.

Loads of stuff around at the mo, lots of it lingering. The sister of someone I teach said just 9 out of 24 were in school on Friday. And I've two friends who have been suffering for a fortnight.

Aargh - I am not as much over it as I thought that I was! I don't feel too bad just sitting quietly in this warm room, but I just ran upstairs for a pee and felt thoroughly sick by the time that I got up there... It looks like I won't be doing much on the bike this week either!

Yesh, lots pulling a sicky.

Had the Double-Jab Shotgun COVID and Flu in same arm about 6 weeks back.

Yup, that's the kinda thing a cycling friend was saying... thoroughly annoyed it won't clear, and he just hasn't felt like going out for a ride, even with the sun out.
