It's a ...white light....make me get it out!!

It's a cateye ... oh here's a link

I got it as part of a set but lost the rear one as that came off too but didn't survive . It was the only thing I got a better one off from the insurance company when my bike got nicked.

It's come off before too! So yeah, bracket could be better - I may just not have clipped it in well enough or something. It's quite a good light really, few meters when pitch black but really just use it to be seen.

Yep, I have had the same problems with Cateye lights...

What I did last time it happened to me was write a letter to the council to let them know that the road surfacing was damaging mine and other's road safety if it was so bad that our lights shot free.

Also if you're a member of the CTC or not fill that hole on their website is worth filling out, as is any actionline form for the local council website. The CTC can help with letters to the council too iirc.

I did about a much worst one further up near a pinch point...still there. I don't think the road needs re-doing there. It's a reasonable surface. If the light had broken I might have tried to get the council to pay for a new one

Some of the cateye brackets are a bit naff, some get jammed, some dont clip in right. If you feel this has failed then you can also tell cateye about it as I did last year. If the light is new you can sometimes get the shop to replace it, or even buy a replacement for about 3 quid.

Also the rubber on them isnt enough. I found cutting a strip of old inner tube and wrapping it around the handlebar first worked wonders, without it the light would start to wilt, lol!
