Hi
Im flying to Italy to do a tour of the Lakes in late september. Im booked to fly with my bike with Jet 2. The only thing I need now is to buy a box for the bike.
Since I plan to do this in the future I was looking at BIKE BOX since they look like the best on offer. Unfortunately the max measurement of the bike box are 4 cm bigger than what Jet 2 allow. A bit mad since this box is used by a large number of top sportsmen who must fly with this box . So would jet 2 turn me away

Has anyone flown with Jet 2 with this box or does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions.

Do you mean one of these:

If yes there was a thread about these a while ago with at least a couple of enthusiasts.

I'd have thought you should be OK providing it doesn't weigh too much and goes through the scanner - i doubt that anyone is going to take a tape measure to it.

If this is the type of box you refer to then it might be worth amending the title of your thread to as the key issue is the type of box, and people's experiences flying with it, rather than the particular airline.

I've often flown with my bike via Jet2 from Leeds/Bradford, I find them very helpful (unlike Ryanair), like dealing with normal rational human beings. My bike goes straight into the "large item" room & get's scanned, I use a soft bike bag, there can't be much difference in size between that & yours and there is plenty of room. Good luck.

I have flown twice with jet 2 once from leeds other time manchester. Once was with a hard case like the one pictured the other time was witha dhb soft bag, much bigger than the hard case. No problems with size, watch the weight
