Then I must have got you wrong too then. How does not delivering mean that Focus or Trek are supporting the LBS?

I guess because you go into the shop, you use other services potentially, you get your 6 week service, you can troubleshoot if issues and the shop makes money to cover the troubleshooting and free servicing, and you get footfall in the high street generally

So you think that Focus and Trek care all about that? Enough to sacrifice numerous additional bike purchases?

I suspect it's more that they don't want to be liable for an amateur building their bike and doing so badly. Resulting in warranty arguments. The same for damage during final transit.

Living where I do, I'm fortunate to be able to source pretty much any bike from within 15 miles, other than Ribble/PX/Dolan so I've not paid it a lot of thought

I don't think I'll ever buy a complete bike online

My mate wants one and no dealers in South Wales he reckons.

It's good to support your LBS, but only if they stock what you actually want and at a reasonable price too. It's s 2 way thing IMHO.

Now it may be that they don't have won't offer at the price he wants, but that's different to there being no dealers

Ive got a 1.0, had it since April - love it and would recommend it - I've had to tweak the setup a bit but find it very comfy, did the ride london on it and had no issues at all.

Let me know what they suggest, and which shop, as my mate was recently but off a Focus for exactly this reason.

Spoke with the shop today, "Focus ask for bikes to be collected in store to ensure that everything is set up correctly".

Well, lets just say that I dont think I`ll be driving anywhere to collect it if I purchase one !!
