Folding tyres.

Are they any more difficult/easier to put on the rim? I have bought a pair of Schwalbe Stelvio Plus for my Audax bike. I have never used folding tyres before. Any tips?

They can be a bit of a pain. Inflate the tube enough for it to hold its shape and talc the inside of the tyre.

Just a bit of patience getting one side of the bead on - after that straight forward.

If, like me, you leave a set of folding Michelin bibs on rims, in wheel covers, hanging in a dark loft for 22 years you will probably need a Stanley knife to get them off.

At least the wheels were still true & taut.

Cheers for the replies, I put them on today with no trouble. It was a bit of a struggle getting my old contis off though
