I am the same Posty, it's not just OCD with the bike. The house is the same denizen of cleanliness and order, or it used to be. Not helped by a sloppy wife who think's the house will miraculously clean itself and of course since ianrauk jnr arrived on the scene 8 months ago.. it's gone completely to pot.

A work colleague come to the house once and he said our house reminded him of a show home..

I have to confess to not being the tidiest person in the world, but my better half seems incapable of using a kitchen bin.

If she opens a bottle, the top will sit on the worktop 6" away from the bin... When she does decide to throw things away, she has no concept of "full". The stuff can be piled 2' above the top of the bin, with the lid balanced precariously on top of a teetering pile of crap - will she empty it (or even change the bag), will she buggery.

Still, I'm sure I have habits which drive her barmy too - we just don't worry about it. I empty the bins, she takes the presence of derailier components in the dishwasher as normal

How many people, I wonder, have as many odd bits of dead derailleurs around the house, as I have? Odd springs and screws, loose jockey wheels, cages that no longer swivel, clamps that don't fit anything, etc., etc. Must have a round-up and a count one of these days.... some day .... some day....

I don't beliieve in astrology, but somebody told me that i am a typical Virgo; neat , tidy and averse to clutter to nearly the point of obsession.
Mrs UD on the other hand has bank statements dating to the early 80s, payslips from when she started work and about a million receipts. I saw some the other day from Woolworths, what are the chances of taking something back there ?
If there is a space she will fill it with something, drives me daft.
We have at least 30 cookbooks out in the kitchen, i would have one good one.
My clothes fit into one half of a double wardrobe and two drawers, hers take five drawers, one and a half double wardrobes and several clothes rails in the loft.

I think it must be the cycle tourist in me that seeks to exist with as little as possible.

Ordinarily yes, however I live with a complete and utter toot merchant so I have to let it go otherwise I would have had a coronary by now or throttled her to death. It does occur to me that I should from time to time. She has got better, i.e. does the minimum bearable, but not sufficient to get a gold star or anything.

I'm a Virgo too and I'm messy and like clutter, so don't feel like you have to believe in astrology because of that.

I'm a virgo that loves clutter and untidyness as well. My garage constantly looks like a bomb's gone off but I can reach out and pick up any tool or part which I want. On the odd occasion when I tidy up and put everything away neatly, I can't find anything...

We do keep a tidy house...BUT, SWMBO has this infuriating habit of 'filing' stuff away, never to be found again. Receipts never go in the same drawer/cupboard/wherever. Open most drawers or cupboards in my house, there'll be a deluge of paperwork, boxes etc etc. It drives me nuts even though everywhere else is really tidy.
BUT...i'm the same in 'my' cupboard. All my bits are in there.....but try to find anything !!!. The reality is, i'm just as bad as she is.

Shiny and clean on the surface (and deeper too)...but drawers and cupboards are a nightmare.

Which reminds me....our house gets hoovered EVERY day, sometimes twice. All rooms get made and cleaned every day. Its amazing how many people say 'oooh, surely you don't hoover EVERY day !!!'
