I too hate wasting food, but 24 hours at just (UK) room temperature for meat would probably be my limit. I'd get over the cost worry by asking myself how much a day off work sitting on a toilet would cost me.

Could be worse

apparently when DOGE left the US Institute of Peace they just locked the doors and left it

there was food on desk and in fridges and all sorts

I reckon even the stuff in the fridges would be well past dodgy (he said avoiding bad puns on the spelling!!)

No, But I've had food poisoning before from an Indian Buffett and its an experience I dont ever want to repeat. I was sat on the loo one minute and the next minute either having to have my head down it or being sick in my hands at the same time. It was really bad and all I could hear was laughing.

reminds me - an Indian "restaurant" near here has just been given a zero Food Hygiene rating

I walked past it just before and it looks dodgy anyway

but as far as I can tell getting a zero rating takes some serious lack of
well - anything

It was an expensive pasty (made at a local bakery) and was meat. I too hate wasting food, but I am unsure if smelling it is a good enough test. It may well smell ok but still unsafe to eat. I think I had better throw it away (it's still in the fridge), and lie to my mum and say he ate it and it was delicious.

Buy another one..let him eat it and he tell your Mum how good it was. Only you need know🤐😀

Just weigh up the cost of the pasty against how much you are prepared to pay to avoid having D & V (and possible hospitalisation).

It's that simple.

I've eaten it. Both hot and cold smell test was fine. My partner told me I was being silly and to just eat it. Microwaved until piping hot, Watch this bowel space
