Re heating rice is not much of an issue. The problem is usually rice left at room temperature when the bacteria grows.Makes me wonder about all those Chinese and Indian take-aways I've eaten since 1977...

The idea that because you've eaten loads of rice from all sorts of places without issues means it's harmless is just simply not understanding what risk means at all.
Ah, misunderstood.Oh Mark, I didn't mean 'I've eaten loads of rice from takeaways so it's rubbish and there's no risk'. I meant, 'Isn't it lucky that I'm still here!'![]()
The guy's a heroA workmate had been told by someone he trusted that mushrooms were poisonous until they have been cooked. So when he saw me eating a salad lunch with bits of raw mushroom in it, he practically knocked the box out of my hand in an effort to save my life.
The potato one has a grain of truth, the green is actually chlorophyll, harmless enough, but tubers that have been exposed to light enough to develop chlorophyll also develop solanine, which is poisonous, but unless you eat a lot of green potatoes the amount in the skin will not harm you, but any with eyes that have sprouted should be discarded.
