Do you buy it and enjoy it, or make it and savour it before setting out for the day (I do).
An American chain is introducing larger measures, but it this idea a bit of a 'has bean' in the grand scheme of things - or is it another way to do something with a vat increase?

Of course - I forgot the most important bit - the announcement that Starbucks are doing a big one.

I have a super duper coffee pot dating from the 1950s... older than me!

Expresso - 3 types of bean to choose from - grind immediately before making - enjoy

Still have not cracked getting it exactly how it is in Italian or French cafes - maybe need to change my expresso machine - one I had before was almost there

For bulk coffee though - very strong black instant - never ever though nescafe or worse

I appreciate a good, strong fresh ground coffee, black, no sugar. Unfortunately that's a rare thing. The last one of note was near CCer Cathryn's place near San Francisco. Most coffee in the US was nothing to write home about though.

EDIT: Do you think I'll be banned from the Tea thread now .

I drink proper coffee sometimes, not every day or even once a week sometimes. Don;t have any instant at home and only drink it when offered it or sometimes at college.

Mostly at home but when I am out then it is usually one of the cafe chains.

Always black, no sugar.
I prefer a srong coffee but not Starbucks strong, it is a little too much but tollorable in the giant size as opposed to the humongus size or the Lake Windermere with a handle on the side.

I tend to drink Douwe Egberts instant in the morning just 1 large cup black with 2 sugars to wake me up then the de-cafe during the day. Recently though I have been moving towards a slice of lemon and a slice of ginger in hot water.

On long drives in the van, I go to service stations and ask for a double expresso with an extra shot, add a bit of sugar, and buy a newspaper. Sip the coffee in the car-park, read a few pages, and then hit the road again. Sorted for another eighty miles.

At home, a Philips Senseo pod gadget. It makes quite good expresso, but a tad on the weak side.

Instant coffee!!! Ptui..... Never touch the stuff. Stove top Bialetti for me. Though rumour has it that the next big thing is going to be those coffee machine things like Nespresso using capsules and churning out the kind of coffee such as you might get in an Italian street side cafe, somewhere in Rome.

Yes I drink a lot*. Too much. At work and at home, it's cafetiere, we try to make it Fairtrade (Q. Is it really Fairtrade?) and vary the brand. But on a long motorway run I find either a Starbucks or a Costa will keep the eyelids propped up and keep me 'legal' for a few more miles! And the size! At Costa (I think it's that one) I always ask for a medium and am still 'wow'ed at the size of the cup!

*don't even think about quoting me out of context!

Probably not Fairtrade, it's just the seller or somebody along the supply chain who belongs or subscribes to the organisation. It helps them sell the product and sometimes adds value.

Arabic coffee for me with cardamon and sometimes a bit of sugar stirred in. I've even got the little coffee pot.

Hmm, my missus says I drink far too much coffee. Instant during the week (Kenco blue), may be 8-10 cups, black no sugar.

Weekends, filter jug 1.5 litres of freshly ground coffee (got a coffee grinder off ebay in November). Hmmm I like weekends.

I miss real coffee. We're on decaff nowadays.

I did OD on Ikea coffee once (free refills - I think I had 3 cups in about 40 mins) only for the world to start spinning round in the middle of soft furnishings.

Me too. Unfortunately, coffee doesn't like me very much so I drink it only occasionally. I don't waste my time with instant, ever, I'd prefer to stick with hot water. I do enjoy a coffee after a nice meal out but I won't finish the cup if it's not up to standard - there's no point in getting sweats and palpitations for something I didn't like!

Tea? Yuk!
