Interestingly dreconian rule requiring all helmets (which are mandatory) to be less than 2 years old!
Are they going to check everyone?
I bet it would be quite easy to buy a "new" helment that has been on a shelf for 2 years.
Where have they picked this number from?
I can't enter my helmet was made feb 11, I did buy it last year.

Normally speaking, the manufacturer's recommendations are 3 or 5 years for renewal. So two years sounds rather arbitrary.

Bit of a pathetic course really. 95KM and 6000ft is hardly EPIC is it? Compare that to the Dragon Gran Fondo which is 132miles and 11,500ft. This looks like someone trying to cash in on the popularity of the Dragon.

I think thats a bit unfair tbh. Not everyone wants to do 132 hilly miles (on the dragon the shorter medio route is very popular). As for cashing in ,people vote with their credit cards ,in huge numbers.
Personally I think in South /West Wales the Merlin Sportive is a better route than the dragon. Similar climbs and less traffic.
I would question the decision to use simple arrows as route markers. Theres plenty of history of these being tampered with to ruin your day.Its a simple solution to put a logo on the sign with the arrow which will be immediately obvious if its upside down or on its side. A smiley face would do.
