see how many fools in your office fall for this tomorrow.

I've already planted the seed that an engineer is coming to upgrade the printers and photocopiers at 6 tonight and I'll be here to let him in. ;)

Have made a big fuss that he better be finished in time so I can get home for the Arsenal - Barca game.

So how many fell for it then?

Actually no one as I was too busy talking on my mobile when I left the office and forgot all about it and had to be somewhere else this morning and couldn't be in first. Gutted!!! As much as I only employ smart people I reckon two would have fell for it.

My boss got a good one over on the new larker.

He (the boss) has a plug with some cable coming out of it that, to all intents and purposes, looks like a regular plug - only it has a spring loaded hammer and an explosive "cap" inside.

He plugged it in, and then a few minutes later came rushing through from his office saying he was late for an appointment with a client and asked the young lad to unplug the joke plug so he could test a laptop PSU. BANG!!! The poor sod nearly jumped out of his skin. Great fun - well, for the rest of us anyway ...

Cheers,
Shaun

One of the April Fool's they used to pull at the vehicle recycler I worked for, was to get one of the juniors to hold a spark plug lead and then turn the engine over - gives you a bloody great electric bolt up your arm -

Puzzle game procrastinator!
Years ago I had a big rack of digital audio equipment next to my computer at work. I was playing some music through it when it suddenly cut out. I stood up and was peering into the rack, wondering what to do next when there was a loud BANG! and smoke started billowing out. I yelped in shock, leapt back about 6 feet and was standing there shaking when I slowly became aware that a dozen pairs of eyes were fixed upon me and there was a loud noise that sounded like 12 grown men wetting themselves with laughter.

It turned out that a colleague had soldered a couple of long wires to a tantalum capacitor and had hidden it in the back of my audio rack. He'd wired the component up, reverse polarity, to a chunky power supply and somehow arranged for the audio to cut out on me. As soon as he'd spotted me leaning towards the rack he'd flipped the switch on the power supply and detonated the capacitor about 4 feet from my head.

Not funny!

OMG I wish i'd logged on two days ago!

our company did quite a good one on the company infonet. they printed a news story about some employees who helped the WI in "Farlipool" knit their way into the Guiness Book of Records by knitting the largest chainmail shirt using recycled overhead electricity line cables. Took me a while to clock it. Doh
