Well there i was minding my own bee's wax, hitting 25 mph(slight downhill), on an empty duel carridgeway A78 . When bang i'm hit and off i come, thankfully no other cars behind and i scramble for the kerb.
Then the pain kicks in knees ,elbow, and right hand are on fire, then a bit of shock i'm lying there in the mud groaning, and to be honest i thought my leg was broke.
Within what must have been seconds, at least three cars pulled over and dashed to my aid, one being a nurse from the local hospital. They all kicked into action checking me over , phoning for an ambulance, keeping me talking and basically just being brilliant.
Then a couple of cyclists came by pulled over, once again making sure i was ok, i may be wrong but they then done what i think only a cyclist would do. Started to get all the bits and bobs , that fell off, or broke off the bike and stashed it in my pannier.
Then the culprit arrives and in a thick as peat Irish accent" I think i may have just hit you"............stunned silence all around. Turns out he is a priest from the local town , and by the looks of him i think he was around when jesus was a nipper.
He left his details and despite advice from all and sundry he left before the ambulance or police arrived. On arrival at the hospital thankfully just soft tissue damage and a sprained wrist,no further police action to be taken as there were no witnesses. Though he has agreed to pay for the damage to my bike,no sign of an apology mind.
Moral of this wee tale? well if like myself you are a lapsed catholic, beware there going to get us back to church one way another:smile:

I am truly sorry for the fact that your hurt yourself but the last line just made me laugh
