Forgotten wireless router password

Did you reset the password when first setting it up? If not its usually Admin with password as password.

My Netgear has a reset button that needs a paperclip. Then it reverts to the original factory password as above.
It also reverts to the default factory settings which may not be what the OP wants.
Though if they've forgotten the password and changed it from the default
then this will be the only option as it requires a login even if you connect via cable.

Yep, I think you'll be looking at a factory reset I'm afraid - on the plus side, well done on setting a password!

(Just don't forget it next time)

..but you have changed it right?

1 no it shouldn't as then the kids could potentially get in and disable any access scheduling if it was running a partially wired network.
2 you didn't read past the first post did you.

Err....
1. I was just offering it as a possibility, that is why I put the word "should" in the post. My router doesn't require a password to access the admin page, just to use it as a router
2. Yes I did

but thanks for your helpful post
