Forgotten wireless router password

Did you reset the password when first setting it up? If not its usually Admin with password as password.

It also reverts to the default factory settings which may not be what the OP wants.
Though if they've forgotten the password and changed it from the default
then this will be the only option as it requires a login even if you connect via cable.

Plug the router into the pc using a network cable and then

1. In a web browser, enter the router's IP address - either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 by default.

you should then be able to review the password

Does that not just get you a sign on screen? I think a factory reset is needed to set a password here.

note that this thread started almost 3 weeks ago so I assume they have either remembered their password or applied a factory reset.

Just connect to the router via a wire rather than wireless
then connect to
either http://192.168.0.1 http://192.168.1.1 http://192.168.1.http://192.168.1.22 or http://192.168.1.3

it should allow access without password

1 no it shouldn't as then the kids could potentially get in and disable any access scheduling if it was running a partially wired network.

1. I was just offering it as a possibility, that is why I put the word "should" in the post. My router doesn't require a password to access the admin page, just to use it as a router
